Chiang Mai Montessori application and admissions procedure
Enrolment at a Montessori school is a process which will take a little time to complete. It is designed for you to learn about Montessori education, and for both you and the school to establish whether this learning environment is ultimately the best place for your child to be in.
Enrolment takes place over two stages:
Stage One (application process)
- Arrange a visit to the school on any Tuesday or Thursday afternoon between 4 and 5pm.
- Schedule an appointment to observe the class in session without your child.
- Fill out and submit an Application Form and Parent Questionnaire. Families that meet selection criteria will be invited to continue on to the enrollment process.
Stage Two (enrollment process)
- Bring your child to class for a short taster session. While in the classroom, your child will get a chance to participate in the activities.
- Attend an enrolment interview with your child. All prospective parents and children must meet with classroom teachers to discuss Montessori methodology and curriculum in more detail. This is a two-way information sharing session designed to establish whether enrolment will ultimately be a ‘good fit’ for both family and school. (Interviews can be conducted in English or Thai).
- Enrol! You will be notified of our offer of a place within 14 days after your interview and a start date will be also be given. Upon your acceptance all further enrolment documents should be handed in to the school office and outstanding enrolment and tuition fees settled.
If there are no places available you will be invited to join the waiting list at a cost of 1,500 Baht*.
Enrollment Notes
Toddler Community
The Toddler Community curriculum is designed to span the length of the full academic calendar (2 semesters), beginning in May of each year. This ensures full acclimatization in the classroom, builds familiarity with the Montessori materials, and establishes routine. Because of this time span, children may only be enrolled in the Toddler Community if they are between 17 and 26 months old.
Applying from abroad
* If you would like to reserve a place with us from abroad you must pay 2,500 Baht for the waiting list fee, at which time you will be given a provisional enrolment date and sent an Application form and Parent Questionnaire to fill out and return. Once you arrive in Chiang Mai the above enrolment procedure will be followed.
Refund Policy
Once a place has been accepted and the school fees paid there will be no refund made under any circumstances.
